Technical Brief DescriptionThe invention discloses a photoelectrochemical method and device for co-treatment of organic and heavy metal liquid waste and electricity generation, wherein a photoelectrode acts as an anode and forms a photoelectrochemical cell with a cathode, and the cathode and anode chambers are separated with an ion exchange membrane, with the organic liquid waste being charged into the anode chamber and the heavy metal liquid waste into the cathode chamber; in the light, the organic liquid waste is catalyzed and oxidized by the light at the anode, releasing electrons and protons, with the electrons being transferred to the cathode via an external circuit, and the protons to the cathode chamber via the electrolyte; the heavy metal ions in the heavy metal liquid waste in the cathode chamber are reduced by the electrons transferred from the external circuit; the system simultaneously enables the treatment of organic liquid waste in the anode chamber and heavy metal liquid waste in the cathode chamber, and outputs electrical energy to the external circuit. The liquid waste treatment method is characterized by low cost, high efficiency, ease of industrialized operation, etc. and has potential applications.
