Technical Brief DescriptionPatents ZL201320039875.3 and ZL201420328902.3. This achievement is characterized by both theoretical research and applied technology. After research and demonstration, 2 practical technology patents have been approved, 2 implementing rules for the technology of increasing carbon sinks and regulating water have been formulated, 4 operation optimization models for increasing carbon sinks and regulating water in Qinling mountain forests have been put forward. The contribution of undergrowth vegetation to the carbon sink of forest ecosystem, the average carbon density of the arborous layer of different types of forests in Qinling Mountains, the purification effect of the canopy layer and the litter layer of different types of forests in Qinling Mountains on heavy metals in precipitation, and the ability to adjust pH value have been estimated. This achievement has been applied in the Qinling forest region of Shaanxi Province, with an area of 330,000 mu and an additional output value of RMB 22.35 million. What's more, it can also be applied in the management of experimental zones in natural reserves, and the selection and tending management of tree species for water source forests in Qinling Mountains.
