Technical principle and process routeThe combined stockpiling technology of waste rock and tailings is applicable to the stockpiling of waste rock and tailings in metal and non-metal open-pit mines. Taking advantage of the topography in space, the tailings pond and waste dump are arranged and managed in a unified manner to form a comprehensive mine solid waste disposal center. Through using this technology, waste rocks are arranged in the downstream as a retaining dam by making full use of their characteristics of large output, coarse particle size, high strength, good water permeability, good seismic stability and strong adaptability, and arranged in the upstream as an inverted filter and impermeable layer by making use of the characteristics of fine tailings particles and poor water permeability. In this technology, waste rock other than tailings are adopted for damming, and tailings are adopted for filtration and anti-seepage of dam structure, which greatly improves the anti-sliding stability of tailings dams, increases the anti-seepage stability of tailings dam and improves the intrinsic safety of tailings pond. Meanwhile, the flood control safety facilities of waste dump are considered according to the characteristics of high flood control and discharge levels of tailings pond, which greatly improves the flood control safety level of waste dump, and can realize the dual control of the safety of waste dump and tailing pond. Effective safety control can greatly reduce the possibility of dam break, and thus greatly reduce the environmental risks caused by dam break.
